How to order repeat medicines and get your results

Ordering repeat prescriptions

Repeat prescriptions are for medicines that your GP has agreed you need on an ongoing basis. If you need a new medicine or your condition has changed, please book an appointment to discuss this with a clinician.

Please allow 72 hours (3 working days) for your request to be processed. If you have requested your prescription to go directly to your local pharmacy, this may take a little longer.

Request by email

Email is the quickest and most reliable way to request your repeat prescription. Simply send your name, date of birth, and the medications you need.

Note: This inbox is for prescription requests only. We cannot respond to emails.

Order in good time before weekends and holidays.

Bank holidays and festive periods can delay processing. Please check how much medication you have and if you will run out around the holiday period, submit your repeat request in plenty of time.

Nominated pharmacy

A nominated pharmacy is a community pharmacy you choose to collect your prescriptions from. When you have a nominated pharmacy, we can send your prescription electronically – no paper slip needed.

Benefits

  • No need to collect a paper prescription from the surgery
  • Your pharmacy can order repeat medicines on your behalf
  • Faster and more secure than paper prescriptions

How to set or change your nominated pharmacy

Ask at any community pharmacy and they can set it up for you, or let our reception team know. You can change your nominated pharmacy at any time.

Not sure if you have a nominated pharmacy?

Contact our reception team and we can check for you and help you set one up if needed.

Medication reviews

Some medicines need to be reviewed regularly to make sure they are still working well for you and are safe to continue.

You may be invited for a medication review before we can issue further prescriptions. This might include blood tests or a blood pressure check.

Please attend when invited – these reviews are an important part of keeping you safe. If you cannot attend, let us know and we will rearrange.
